Understanding children’s developmental process of psychology helps understand the training and the treatment mechanisms of Youth Mind Training and Mother Therapy. The

psychological development process adopted by the Theory of Mimind may be different from those adopted by conventional fields of psychology and psychiatry. The concept of

the process of psychological development is essential in designing and implementing the training and treatment methods of Youth Mind Training and Mother Therapy.

[The process of psychological development]

- Under age 5 : The phase of survival

- Age 5 to 13 : The phase of adaptation to relationships

- Age 13 to 20 : The phase of formation of self-identity

- Over age 20 : The phase of self-actualization

This is the period when children form their own thought standards. They try hard to perceive and accommodate as much information as possible necessary for forming thought

standards. They employ adequate strategies for adapting themselves to relationships as the basis for forming thought standards in relationships. They begin to pursue self-

actualization when they become adults based on the thought standards formed in this period.

Boys in the phase of formation of self-identity determine their thoughts based on their moods. Boys have thought standards that bifurcate external information as being right or

wrong. When the information that flows in accords with their thought standards, it induces positive moods. When it does not accord with their thought standards, negative

moods. Negative moods operate as stress and positive moods as fun and pleasure. Therefore, boys can be psychologically stabilized and feel happy when they have fun and

pleasure with positive moods, but they are psychologically destabilized and feel unhappy when they have stress with negative moods.

On the other hand, girls’ thought standards are connected with feelings instead of moods, and they form thought standards based on likes and dislikes. Positive feelings are

generated when the information that flows in accords with their own thought standards, and negative feelings when it does not accord with their thought standards. Therefore,

girls can be psychologically stabilized and feel happy when they sense love and happiness with positive feelings, but they are psychologically destabilized and feel unhappy

when they sense wounds with negative feelings.

The phase of formation of self-identity is the period when teenagers form their own thought standards based on the criteria of right and wrong or likes and dislikes. It is typical

that teenagers in this phase experience trial and errors in many areas of their life.
