It is not true maternal love to force children to live by mothers' thought standards. Some mothers consider children as their possessions and make investment

 into children with certain expectations from adults' point of view. Such phenomena result from the distorted concept of maternal love.  

The concept of true maternal love is not difficult or complicated at all. True maternal love can be achieved only by giving love to children and feeling loving and

 loved through children's happiness. Many mothers do not realize that their concept of maternal love is distorted. Mothers themselves were brought up in the

 distorted concept of maternal love, so they may confuse the distorted concept of maternal love with true maternal love. They may not even doubt on their ideas

 on maternal love and mothers' roles. Many mothers are busy rearing their children to accord with adults' thought standards neglecting children's happiness.

Many policies and programs that support child rearing focus on knowledge education rather than children's true happiness. These policies and programs do

 not contribute much to promoting children's happiness. Most information for parents is also related with knowledge education or healing methods for parents

 themselves. Programs that are intended to promote children's happiness are hard to be found. Distorted maternal love may be of the society's making rather

 than of individual mothers' making.

When mothers pursue only their only happiness with the distorted concept of maternal love, both mothers and children develop psychological problems, which

 in turn will cause diverse problems in families and the society. We all must do our best to get out of this vicious cycle of reproducing and reinforcing

 individuals' psychological problems and related social problems caused by the distorted concept of maternal love.
